Ms Linda Powell
Ms Linda Powell is the First Assistant Secretary of the Office for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health (OATSIH), within the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing. OATSIH is responsible for delivering the Government’s commitments regarding improved access by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to high quality and effective health care essential to improving health and life expectancy and to reduce child mortality.
Ms Powell has worked in the health portfolio for more than ten years. She has worked extensively across Government, including time in the Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs, the Australian Greenhouse Office and the Department of Finance and Deregulation.
Ms Powell is an ex-officio member of NIHEC in her role as First Assistant Secretary.
